The Rush Employee Referral Program offers substantial incentives for you to refer people you know for RN and other hard-to-fill positions. Once your referred candidate has completed six months of employment, you will be issued a bonus check. It's that simple.
Receive $3,000 for successfully referring staff level nurses and Advanced Practice Providers
Receive $1,500 for successfully referring other hard-to-fill positions
Bonus amounts will be pro-rated at 50 percent for part-time positions (.5-.8 FTE)
All staff-level nurse vacancies, full- or part-time: Adult Critical Care, Cath Lab, Medical/Surgical, OR/PACU, Rehab, Psychiatry, Clinical Research, Women & Children's, RUMG (Ambulatory Clinic), Benefit Eligible Clinical Staffing Office (excludes RN Residency, RN New Grads and Per Diem), Case Management
Advanced Practice Providers: All vacancies, full- or part-time: Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Physician Assistants (excludes Per Diem)
Bonus Eligible Positions: $1500
Allied Health Professionals/Rehab Professionals:
All staff-level vacancies, full- or part-time: Pharmacists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Respiratory Therapists (excludes Per Diem)
Health Information: All staff-level vacancies, full- or part-time: Coders, Coding Compliance Coordinators, Coding Auditors (excludes Per Diem)
Laboratory Professionals: All staff-level vacancies, full- or part-time: Clinical Laboratory Scientists (all levels), Histologists, Pathology Assistants, Med Techs, Lead Med Techs (excludes Per Diem)
Rules and Eligibility
Eligible positions will be determined by Human Resources according to current organizational needs.
Candidates will be evaluated based on the job requirements and competencies. Human Resources reserves the right to determine if an individual meets the qualifications of the position.
All Rush University Medical Center employees, except leaders and Human Resources staff, are eligible to refer applicants as part of this program.
Employees involved in the hiring decision for a particular position are not eligible for a referral bonus for that position; including leaders and Human Resources Staff.
Referrals from agency or current contract staff who have current work assignments with Rush or have ended a work assignment within the preceding 2 years are not eligible to be considered as employee referrals for the purposes of this program.
Candidates must be referred by a current Rush Employee. Candidates cannot be current employees of Rush or have been employed by Rush in the preceding 2 years.
Both the referring employee and the referred employee must be employed by Rush at the time of payout.
Only one referral bonus can be given per candidate. If a candidate is referred by more than one employee, the first referral received will be the one awarded if the candidate is hired.
In order to receive the referral bonus, the referring employee's name must be entered by the candidate on his/her online application.
The new employee must consistently maintain full-time or part-time status for the entire designated period in order for the referring employee to receive payment.
All referral bonus payouts are subject to applicable withholdings and taxation.
Based on market conditions and hiring needs, Rush reserves the right to amend, interpret, terminate or suspend this program at any time.
If the referred candidate is hired, the referring employee will receive the referral bonus after the new employee has worked for Rush University Medical Center for 6 months. Referring employee must be on Rush payroll at time of offer.
In order to receive the referral bonus, the referring employee must submit the referral form prior to an offer being extended in order to be eligible for a payout.
